Next Step Overview
What is Next Step?
Next Step is a 7-week conversational environment where people explore the journey to becoming like Christ and launch into long-term community. Next Step gives practical steps of how to grow in your relationship with God. During Next Step, you will have the opportunity to sign-up for a long-term small group.
Who is Next Step for?
Next Step is for everyone who has been through Starting Point. Starting Point lays the foundation for knowing the Story of God. Next Step lays the foundation for knowing the journey to becoming like Christ and then launching people into long-term community in small groups.
What is the size of a typical group?
Next Step starts out as a large group environment for the first part of the evening. There is a speaker who talks about 10-15 minutes introducing the topic for the evening. Then everyone breaks into small groups (led by small group leaders) for the rest of the evening. Each week you will meet with the same group that you started with to get to know each other during the seven weeks.
When and Where Do Groups Meet?
The entire Next Step experience is seven weeks. Each group meeting lasts 2 hours. We strongly encourage leaders to end on time. Next Step will meet at a designated location.
How Often is Next Step Offered?
Next Step is offered multiple times throughout the year. Find out when it will start at our Sunday Worship Gatherings.
What Do the Materials Include?
- Conversation Guide: a full-color guide divided into seven chapters.
- The Bible: a New Living Translation of the Bible with a great introduction to the Story of God and how you can find your place in the story.
How Do I Start?
Starting Point and Next Step Intro is the best way to learn about Next Step and to get into a group. The Intro occurs after a Sunday morning Worship Gathering and will last approximately 20 minutes. Once you attend and sign-up for Next Step, you will need to purchase the conversation guide. Read the first chapter and answer the questions before attending Next Step. Starting Point and Next Step Intro’s take place in January, May and September throughout the year and will be announced in our worship gatherings as they approach.
