What is a Small Group?
Small Groups are made up of ten people that meet weekly in someone’s home. A typical small group will consist of connecting time, a curriculum study, and prayer.
What Kinds of Small Groups Are There?
Small Groups are comprised of married couples and singles (18 and over).
Is Childcare provided for each group Meeting?
Childcare is not provided.
How often do Small Groups meet?
Most groups meet weekly and will take holidays off and part of the summer as decided upon by the group.
How long does a Small Group last?
Small groups initially commit to meet for eight weeks as a Starter Group. After those first eight weeks, the group members decide if they want to continue meeting together for an additional 16-22 months. Therefore, the total duration of a typical small group is between 18-24 months.
How Long does each group meeting last?
Each Small Group picks the length of time they will meet. However, most groups meet for two hours.
What does it mean when a group “ends” or “multiplies”?
At the end of the 18-24 month time period, the group commitment is finished. During the term of the group, the group leader will train an apprentice leader. At the end of the group, the group will multiply into two new groups. Group members are encouraged to join a new group with either the leader or the apprentice. Then those two new groups will add more members from Next Step to their respective groups, therefore allowing others to join groups.
