Epic team

Trent and Tammy Schake

Trent-and-Tammy

Trent – Epic lead

What I do: Help people find their place in God’s epic story.

Favorite part of my job: Seeing people living the way God designed them to live.

Factoid: I love the smell of coffee but don’t drink it.

Guilty pleasure: I’m a recovering Chili’s chips and salsa addict.

Personal Bio: I went to college to become a licensed professional counselor and yet God had other plans. In 2000, I stepped out of professional counseling to become a full-time minister. Since then, God has slowly grown a desire for Tammy and I to lead a new church dedicated to reaching a new generation of spiritual seekers.  On September 20, 2009, Epic church celebrated its first official worship gathering.  The epic adventure has only begun!

Tammy

What I do: I get to serve the preschool aged children and their families, by providing an atmosphere where they are loved, connected with and where they are given the opportunity to develop and deepen their relationship with Christ.

Favorite part of my job: Being humbled and challenged continually by the authenticity of the faith of these little heroes and the volunteers that I get to serve with.

Factoid: I dream of being a ninja warrior!

Guilty pleasure: Chocolate ice cream with Lays original potato chips.

Personal Bio: I received a Bachelor’s Degree for Elementary Education. After working with Flagler County Schools, I became a Co-Director for Children’s Ministry where I have served for several years.  God slowly began to ignite my heart for starting a new church with my husband and four children that would engage a new generation of spiritual seekers. I am currently working with the Children’s Ministry for Epic and excited to see what God has in store for the next chapter in His story!

Tim and Sarah Jones

Tim-and-Sarah

Tim – spiritual development lead

What I do: Help people grow in their relationship with God and others.

Favorite part of my job: Seeing people know how to connect with God and seeing their lives changed.

Factoid: I have been told that I have a good laugh! If there was a scale to my laughing, I would be maxed out when you see my head tilted back and my laugh can be heard throughout the halls of a building and it brings a smile to others.

Guilty pleasure: Pizza and Dessert!

Personal Bio: I was born in Iowa City, Iowa and then we moved 4 weeks later to what I consider my home, Orlando, FL. I attended Boone High School (Go Braves!) and after graduation moved to Michigan. After attending a community college for a year, I transferred to a private liberal arts university in Virginia and earned my teaching degree. While in Lynchburg, VA, I fell in love with Sarah and married her on July 1, 2000. Sarah and I worked with Student Affairs at the university and attended graduate school for about five years. Upon completing my graduate degree from Seminary, we moved to Atlanta, GA. For the past four and half years I worked at GiANT Impact, which is an organization that equips and trains leaders. At the end of 2008, Sarah and I felt God was leading us to start a church. Then in March of 2009, we reconnected with Trent and Tammy and they asked us what God was leading us to do. We told them and they said that was great as they were starting Epic Church and asked us to join the Epic team. Sarah and I will never forget 2009 because of what God has done. He made a way for us to come to Palm Coast, Florida and then gave us our first child, Audrey. Audrey was born the same week Epic started. She is a gift that we have been waiting on for many years. On January 5, 2010, we moved from Atlanta to Palm Coast!  We are pumped to join the Epic team and be a part of introducing people into a growing relationship with God.

Sarah

What I do: Work alongside Tim to help people grow in their relationships with God.

Favorite part of my job: Seeing people’s lives changed through a relationship with Jesus.

Factoid: I love the fall, especially football! I grew up in Michigan, so I love cheering on Michigan State and yes, even, the Detroit Lions. (Unfortunately, we are a house divided – Tim is a University of Michigan fan!!)

Guilty pleasure: Reading for hours without thought of my to do list.

Personal Bio: I grew up in Romeo, Michigan, a little town north of Detroit as a pastor’s kid. After I graduated, I went to college in Lynchburg, Virginia at a private, liberal arts university. I met my husband, Tim, my senior year.  Through Tim, I met Trent and Tammy Schake. Tim and I married and lived in Virginia working in Student Affairs at the university and going to grad school. After Tim graduated from grad school, we moved to Atlanta and I started working for EQUIP, a non-profit organization that trains international Christian leaders. In 2009, we reconnected with Trent and Tammy and they asked us to join the Epic team. Our daughter, Audrey, was born the week that Epic church started. On January 5, 2010, Tim, Audrey, and I moved from Atlanta to Palm Coast to join the Epic team. We are so excited to be a part of introducing people to Jesus and helping them grow in their relationships with Him.
